• Response to Intervention is a 3 tier approach to assist students that need support in either academic and/or behavioral needs. The RTI process begins with Tier 1a in the classroom and will move to Tier 1b if necessary. Tier 1a and 1b are interventions based in the classroom to help with an isolated skill.                                                                   
     After a 6-8 week period of time,students are provided with more intensive interventions based upon teacher collected data if needed.
    After it has been determined that the student needs more than what Tier 1a and 1b are giving them in the classroom, the student will be moved to Tier 2. At this tier, the student will be removed from the room 2 times a week for 30 minutes each time; 60 minutes a week. After another 6-8 weeks, the RtI team will reconvene and assess the progress. If the student has made little or no progress, it can be decided to move the student to a Tier 3. Tier 3 is a tad bit more intensive. The student will be pulled 3 times a week for 30 minutes; 90 minutes a week. If after this tier there is still not enough progress, the team, with parental consent can make a referral to Child Study Team to see what else can bee done to help.
    Students love getting pulled out for extra work on areas they need it! There are always fun twists on the content that keep them eager to learn!
