Degrees and Certifications:
Hi my name is Deanne Weitzell. For the past ten years I have been a first grade teacher here at Port Monmouth Road School. I am very excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year with Ms. Formica and look forward to a successful year with your children. Before I began my teaching career I earned a Biology degree from Stockton State College. I worked in the science field as a laboratory technician and also in sales. I then went on to get my teaching certificate from Georgian Court College.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a five-year-old daughter named Kaitlyn. Our family enjoys spending time outdoors at the beach and parks, we also love going to the rides at the boardwalk.
Hi my name is Christine Formica and I am very excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year. I have been teaching at the Port Monmouth Road School for the last ten years. During this time I have been very lucky to have had the most amazing students in my classes and cannot wait to see what this year's class brings. In addition I am looking forward to meeting and working closely with you. I believe that strong relationships with parents always supports each student to work to their fullest potential.
Before I entered the educational field I studied English at the University of Rhode Island where I recieved my bachelors degree. Upon graduation I was hired to work in Keansburg at the district's preschool. While working during the day I attended Monmouth University in the evenings. Although I was throughly enjoying my new career as an educator, I felt I wanted to continue my journey as a lifelong learner. Over the past few years I have received a MAT, MSED and a certificate in leadership. I believe that my enthusiasm for learning not only allows me to best support my students but encourages them to share the same love for learning as I do.
